The Lost Theatres of Newham- Parrabbola

With Parrabbola

An exploration of the theatres, cinemas, music halls and venues once spread across the borough. Now disappeared, destroyed or demolished.

All the way back to Shakespeare’s time, there were places for performance in Newham. In the early 20th century it was one of the busiest areas in the city for entertainment.

Join Parrabbola to celebrate these venues, their history, and the people who managed, visited and performed in them. Enjoy a words and music piece in collaboration with the Newham Super Choir, exploring stories, memories, music hall songs, songs from old Theatre Royal playbills and songs by contemporary bands and musicians associated with the borough.

Saturday 1 July 2023, 11-11.45am at Applecart Arts
